The enclosed courtyard garden has a barbecue and furniture for al fresco dining in the summer months and is a lovely place just to sit and relax in the peaceful surroundings. The cottage is well placed to enjoy all Northumberland has to offer and makes a fabulous base in which to spend time exploring this unique and beautiful county.

The castle at Warkworth is also very well-preserved, while Bamburgh Castle, the seat of the old Kings of Northumbria, has a fantastic location right on the seashore. Don’t miss a trip to Lindisfarne, birthplace of English Christianity, or to Hadrian’s Wall, which runs through the county. And for great shopping and nightlife, and a unique atmosphere, head to Newcastle.
